Renewed composition Codema’s Board of Directors

Successful teamwork. One team, one task.
Under the leadership of Maarten de Jager, Codema Systems Group has grown into a multidisciplinary company in the greenhouse horticulture sector in recent years. Currently, there are around 150 enthusiastic employees working at different locations in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Codema provides essential custom-made horticulture solutions worldwide. Due to the global growth and opportunities offered by new markets, Codema’s Board of Directors has chosen for a renewed composition within the current Board of Directors in order to achieve future goals.

A new direction

According to Maarten de Jager, the ideal Board of Directors is not too big, diverse in its composition and focused on a clear objective. Well-functioning teams consist of people who complement each other and provide a counterbalance. With the arrival of Marcel Koolen as General manager, de Jager believes that he has taken an important step and he is convinced that Codema, under the daily management of Marcel Koolen together with Lennard van der Ham (CFO) and Gideon de Jager (CCO and Statutory Director), is ready for a successful future.
The change of composition of the Board of Directors must ensure a renewed course of the organization. The change of course demands a new dynamism within the organization, according to Maarten de Jager. “After almost 25 years, I find it necessary to make room and appoint a new member of the board. I am pleased that we can add an experienced board member to a team of already 150 enthusiastic and skilled employees. I am confident that Codema, under the management of a three-person board, will have a successful future.”, says Maarten de Jager.

“Due to the fast-growing world population, more food and floriculture has to be produced in a way that is more sustainable and more efficient. Codema is aware of this paradigm. Marcel Koolen 

Marcel has more than 25 years of experience in managing (inter-)national organizations, that take and implement maintenance, replacement, and new construction projects of great public interest. Marcel has worked in infrastructure, drinking water supply and energy generation. As we got to know Marcel, he focuses on and has much experience with project/contract management and operations. He is familiar with both the dynamics and hectic of production sites and working on the production sites. Broad experience in successfully bringing together civil engineering, electrical engineering, measurement and control technology and industrial automation into a successful whole. Marcel strongly believes in the value of people and strengthening the organization by bringing together, unifying and optimizing people, processes and working methods in a controlled way to achieve the best results together.

To conclude

De Jager is committed to continue his connection to Codema Systems Group in the role of Commissioner in the coming years. He also sees himself as an ambassador of the company and the Dutch greenhouse horticulture sector. De Jager concludes with a quote from Albert Einstein: “Do not try to be a man of success, rather try to be a man of value.”
